Website

We are operating through our website as usual through these challenging times and offer a click and collect system.  This helps us reduce potential contamination through cash and card handling, and it also makes it easier for staff to keep a digital track of all orders, and make them up faster!

Click and collect

We encourage those who live in the city center to use our 'click & collect' service through our website. An automatic email will be sent out to you when your order is ready and your order will be placed on the doorstep for you to collect. (No-contact service) We try to make up click & collect orders on the same day, but some orders will not be ready until the next morning.

Mail orders

Mail orders can be places through the website as normal, however, we temporarily only offer 2nd class postage at a reduced cost of £3. Weight restrictions apply

Customer Notice Re: Delivery Service
Important Customer Announcement!
Its is with deep regret that I have to announce the end ,with immediate effect, of our home delivery service.
All orders received from today, Friday 3rd July, requesting a ‘home delivery’ will now be sent out by Royal Mail 2nd class franked.
NB: we are still continuing with free postage for orders over £25.00
I started our home delivery service on the 23rd March 2020, the week the lockdown started, and to date have made over 1,200 home deliveries .
However, thanks to the new restrictions imposed on by Aberdeen City Council under the guise of ‘Safe Spaces for People’, I am no longer allowed to access the shop for deliveries or collections. Between the hours of 10.00am - 6.00pm
In a letter sent out by the council it states deliveries will be permitted between 10.00 – 18.00, but only in exceptional circumstances and subject to certain conditions. One of which is having to give 7 days prior notice!
This lack of access just makes it impossible for me to continue to provide an efficient delivery service.
At the height of the lockdown my daughter, who was helping me with the deliveries, and I were making 2 to 3 visits to the shop a day to pick up all the items for delivery. We are now banned from doing so!
Aberdeen City Council appears to have no understanding how difficult it is be an independent retailer in the heart of the city!
The retail climate was difficult enough even before COVID 19, we are competing not only with the large shopping centres but also other online retailers. It is imperative that we can offer things such as next day delivery services to customers to stay in business. But this option has effectively been denied to us.
It appears that the real ‘Barrier To Business’ we now face comes from those currently in charge of running Aberdeen City Council.
I like to think that we were there for you at the heart of the crisis, by delivering direct to your home.
I now hope that as the shop is back open, the reverse will be true, and you all feel safe enough to once again come into town. Thank you
