Nicaragua - La Bastilla Estate Microlot San Pedro - Blueberry Candy - Natural Processed
‘Blueberry Candy’ is a stunning shade grown, hand picked and
naturally processed micro lot coffee of the ‘Hybrid H3’ varietal.
Grown on the ‘San Pedro micro lot’, which is situated within the
massive ‘La Bastilla Estates’ at an altitude of 1300 -1350 metres.
The Estate has been certified by Rainforest Alliance since 2003 and runs a social responsibility program that works towards providing education for all who live on the farm, while also giving precedence to improving the standard of living of their employees.
Ian visited this plantation back in 2018. He stayed at the ‘Eco lodge’ on the Estate, which will be well remembered, as will the generosity of the estate co owner Markus.
Tasting notes: medium body with sweet prominent coffee fruit,
pineapple, strawberry jam, cocoa & blueberry
With an amazing SCAA score of 87pts, this is easily a ‘competition class’ coffee!
