Nicaragua - La Bastilla Estate Microlot San Pedro - Blueberry Candy - Natural Processed
This is first coffee to arrive as a result of my recent trip to Nicaragua. and it may well be one of the best coffees we’ve ever roasted!
‘Blueberry Candy’ is a stunning shade grown, hand picked and naturally processed micro lot coffee of the ‘Hybrid H3’ varietal.
Grown on he San Pedro micro farm, which is situated within the massive ‘La Bastilla Estates’ at an altitude of 1300 -1350 metres.
The Estate has been certified by Rainforest Alliance since 2003 and runs a social responsibility program that works towards providing education for all of those who live on the farm including children, while also giving precedence to improving the standard of living of their employees.
The night I stayed at the ‘Eco lodge’ on the Estate will live long in my heart as will the generosity of the estate co owner Markus.
Tasting notes show sweet prominent coffee fruit, fresh cocoa, Blueberry. With an amazing SCAA score of 87pts, this is easily a ‘competition class’ coffee !
