ETHIOPIA Yiragacheffe ‘Hafurasa Waro‘ HONEY PROCESS
Not only a new coffee for 2019, but our first ever honey processed coffee from Ethiopia!
‘Hafurasa Waro’ is a washing station situated in the famed Yirgacheffe district of Ethiopia.
The 843 smallholders bring their ripe coffee cherries to the washing station where they are processed ready for exportation.
The move to ‘honey processing’, which uses less water than the traditional ‘washed’ method, is very new and this is the first batch to reach the UK.
The Yirgacheffe region is known for producing coffee with elaborate floral and berry tones, this is no exception.
A SCAA score of 84.5, puts it firmly in the ‘speciality range’ of coffee i.e above a score of 80
